Meet Brent Hancock
Brent is the Director of Ablewest Construction, bringing over 27 years of experience in residential construction across Western Australia and Queensland.
Beginning his career as a custom furniture maker in 1996, then as a carpenter in 1997-2000, he progressed through formal building qualifications early in his career, completing his Diploma of Builders Registration in 2001. This combination of hands-on trade experience and formal building registration has shaped a practical, solutions-driven approach to construction delivery.
His early years working across project housing provided a strong technical foundation in construction systems, before moving into architecturally designed timber-framed homes in Queensland. It was during this period that his focus shifted toward complex residential construction and renovations where precision, quality, sequencing, and problem-solving are critical.
Brent holds a Queensland Builders Licence and is a registered Builder in Western Australia, having established Ablewest Construction Pty Ltd in 2010.
Since then, he has led the delivery of a wide range of architectural renovations and custom residential builds, with a focus on complex structural alterations, extensions, and high-detail construction environments.
He remains actively involved across projects, providing direct oversight of all key stages to ensure build quality, detailing, and execution align with design intent. This hands-on involvement is supported by a long-standing network of trusted trades and consultants who operate to a consistent high standard of workmanship.
